Over the past several years, the career and technical centers in New Hampshire have worked closely with the NH Department of Education to develop a uniform set of competencies for each Career and Technical Education (CTE) program offered in the state.
Today, each ATC student is being evaluated against the competencies for his/her program--the same competencies in use at every other CTE center in New Hampshire.
In September 2008, the competency documents were revised to reflect the model developed by the Capitol Area Center for Educational Support (CACES). The competency documents were also "cross-walked" (i.e., compared with) the NH Frameworks for Science. It is planned that the CTE competencies will soon be crosswalked to the NH Frameworks for Math and Language Arts.
